Israeli Defence Minister Yisrael Katz recently paid an important visit to the IDF’s Kidnap Return Headquarters, where he discussed the current status of operations aimed at returning citizens abducted during the fighting with the Director General of the Ministry of Defence, Eyal Zamir. The visit took place on Sunday, when Katz, together with key officials, including retired Major General Eyal Zamir and Head of the Department for Prisoners and Missing Persons Nitzan Alon, reviewed the intelligence situation and discussed operational aspects of the return of the abductees. This is reported by TimeUkraineIsrael portal with reference to Israeli Channel 7.
Return of abductees is a priority for the state
During the visit, Katz clearly outlined the importance of this task. The Defence Minister stated that for him, this issue is at the forefront of all Israeli military and political strategies. “As I have determined from my first day in office, the return of the abductees is our most important value goal,” he stressed.
This is not only a political or military task, but also a humanitarian mission, where every step requires maximum effort. Katz noted that all efforts aimed at releasing the abductees are being made without political compromise. “Every meeting with the families of the abductees and those involved in the mission to return them gives me even more motivation,” he added.
Never without political compromise
The defence minister also stressed the Israeli government’s principled approach to this issue: the return of the abductees will not be subject to any political bargaining. According to Katz, the ministry and the military are working in close cooperation to find all possible ways to bring the citizens home.
“This is not just a military operation, it is our moral obligation to families and society,” Katz concluded.
Steady progress
All parties involved in the efforts to return the abductees continue to work day and night to ensure a successful outcome. In particular, retired Major General Yoav Mordechai also noted that it is important to constantly monitor the situation and improve operations to leave no opportunity for rescue.
After this visit, it became clear that the Israeli government would do everything possible to bring its citizens home, despite all the difficulties and challenges that arise in this process.
A few words
Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed that for Israel, the issue of returning the abductees is not just a strategic task, but a moral obligation. This is the highest priority for the government, and everyone involved in this operation is working not only for the good of the state, but also for humanity and justice.
