Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that negotiations on the second phase of the hostage and ceasefire agreement will begin this week, The Jerusalem Post reports. Israel demands the complete demilitarisation of the Gaza Strip and will not accept the presence of Hamas or other terrorist organisations there.
The first phase of the ceasefire, which provides for a six-week pause in hostilities, can be extended if the dialogue is constructive, Saar said.
