Israel has temporarily closed all of its diplomatic missions around the world and suspended consular services. This was reported by the Israeli Embassy in Ukraine.
The statement said the decision was made “in view of recent events”. The nature of these events is not specified, but it coincides with the deterioration of the situation in the Middle East after a nighttime strike on Tehran, which, according to media reports, killed high-ranking Iranian military and nuclear scientists.
The embassy called on Israeli citizens abroad to fill out an online form to report their whereabouts and current status. The diplomatic agency also reminded of basic safety rules, including avoiding crowded places and keeping in touch with local Israeli representatives if possible.
This decision may be related to the increased threats to the security of Israeli diplomats in the world caused by Iran’s potential response to the elimination of key figures in its military and political leadership.
