Israeli Defence Minister Yisrael Katz made a high-profile statement on Thursday morning, saying that Israel is ready to launch direct strikes against Iran if Tehran continues to direct attacks on Israel through proxy groups. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

“What we did to Hezbollah in Beirut, Hamas in Gaza, Assad in Damascus and the Houthis in Yemen, we will do the same to you in Tehran,” Katz said.

Iran will not remain in the shadows

The Israeli minister placed direct responsibility on the Iranian leadership, which finances, arms and coordinates the activities of Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas and other anti-Israeli forces.

“The era of intermediaries is over. The axis of evil is falling apart,” the minister stressed.

Houthis threaten Israel after agreement with US

Against this backdrop, the Houthis in Yemen have said that the agreement to stop attacks on US ships does not apply to Israel. On Wednesday, the group announced a new drone attack on Israel, despite the agreement with Washington.

Although US President Donald Trump has announced the suspension of strikes against the Houthis, Israel does not intend to reduce its combat readiness.

Tensions in the region are growing

These events are increasing tensions in the Middle East. Against the backdrop of geopolitical pressure, Israel is demonstrating its readiness to act independently and toughly against its adversaries. A potential strike against Iran could change the course of the entire regional security configuration.
