Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog will meet with US President Joe Biden on Tuesday, according to an official statement. The statement does not mention a meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, The Times of Israel reports.
The Duke is already in the United States to participate in the annual General Assembly of the Federation of Jewish Communities of North America. According to the Federation’s website, the event will begin on Sunday evening with a large-scale rally at the Nationals Park baseball stadium in Washington, DC.
The event is aimed at supporting Israel and fighting anti-Semitism, as well as honouring the US army, Israel’s allies and uniting the Jewish community.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had already had up to three phone conversations with Trump since his election, during which the main issue was the “Iranian threat”.
In a video message released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu also strongly condemned the recent acts of violence in Amsterdam. There, during a demonstration in support of Palestine, protesters attacked fans of the Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv.
