Amid the recent terrorist attacks that have shaken Israel, the Knesset will consider a bill that would deport family members of terrorists. According to Israel’s Channel 9, the legislative committee plans to discuss the bill at today’s meeting.

The initiative, proposed by coalition chairman Ophir Katz and Jewish Home MK Almog Cohen, has already received the support of a number of Knesset members and will be submitted for second and third reading.

According to the proposal, the Minister of Internal Affairs will have the right to issue deportation orders for family members of terrorists without the need for prior court approval. This measure is intended to become an effective tool in the fight against extremism and terrorism in the region. However, even if the bill is approved, its future looks uncertain: the government’s legal adviser, Gali Baharav-Miara, may object to the proposed provisions.
