Lithuania believes that Ukraine will be able to become a full member of the European Union by 2030 and is actively assisting in this process by providing knowledge and experience of its own accession to the bloc. This was stated by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, 2030 should be the deadline for Ukraine’s accession to the EU: “We have to set this deadline and count down the deadlines for all other important decisions that need to be made.”
Budrys stressed that Lithuania is investing its best knowledge and experience in the Ukraine2EU project to help Ukraine’s integration. “We believe that you can do it by 2030. That’s why we are so committed to this, because you inspire us with your commitment and motivation,” he said.
