French President Emmanuel Macron announced after a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Vatican that Ukraine is ready for a full and unconditional ceasefire. This was reported by Reuters.

“Ending the war in Ukraine is a goal we share with US President Donald Trump,” Macron wrote on Saturday on the X platform.

According to him, Zelenskyy clearly confirmed Ukraine’s readiness for an immediate ceasefire and expressed a desire to cooperate with both American and European partners to implement this plan. Macron emphasised that the so-called “Coalition of the Willing”, led by Paris and London, will continue to work to ensure sustainable peace.

On the sidelines of his participation in Pope Francis’ funeral ceremony at the Vatican, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held important talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Donald Trump.

On Telegram, Zelenskyy said that during his conversation with Trump, they discussed the protection of Ukrainian lives, a complete ceasefire and the achievement of a lasting and reliable peace that would prevent the recurrence of war.

“This was a very symbolic meeting that has the potential to become historic if we manage to achieve joint results,” the President of Ukraine stressed.

After the talks, Trump publicly addressed Vladimir Putin via his Truth Social platform, accusing Russia of new attacks on civilian targets and hinting at the possibility of tougher sanctions.

“There is no reason to shoot at civilians. It makes you wonder if Putin really wants to end the war,” Trump wrote.
