As part of his Middle East tour, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga visited Lebanon, where he held a series of meetings with Lebanese government officials, political and religious leaders. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry’s press service on Tuesday, 31 December.

Discussion of cybersecurity and digitalisation
In Beirut, Andriy Sybiga met with the Minister of Telecommunications of Lebanon. The parties focused on cybersecurity and the exchange of experience in the field of digitalisation. An agreement was reached to develop partnership in these key areas.

Support for the Ukrainian community in Lebanon
The Minister also held a separate meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community. He supported their initiative to establish a Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Lebanon and gave the appropriate instructions for its prompt launch.

Development of bilateral relations
Following the visit, Sibiga stated that Ukraine was ready to deepen cooperation with Lebanon:

“We are ready to deepen Ukrainian-Lebanese relations, develop political and economic cooperation, and strengthen people-to-people ties,” the minister said.
