Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that the implementation of the so-called “Trump’s revolutionary plan” to move the civilian population of Gaza is a key condition for ending the war. He made the announcement during his first press conference in five months, The Times of Israel reports.
According to him, the IDF’s current ground operation, called “Chariots of Gideon,” which began in Gaza, should end the war. “The goal is to defeat Hamas, return all hostages and make Gaza safe for Israel,” Netanyahu said.
He stressed that the war would end only under a few clear conditions: the complete surrender of Hamas, the expulsion of its leadership from the enclave, the disarmament of Gaza, and the implementation of Trump’s “correct and revolutionary” plan, which includes the displacement of civilians.
The Prime Minister noted that Israel is open to a “temporary truce” for the return of hostages, but emphasised: “We will win – and it will happen not in a year and a half, but much sooner. We will achieve a decisive result”.
Netanyahu also stressed that Israel’s relations with the US administration remain “very positive”. He said that President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Weiss had recently personally reaffirmed their support for Israel, and that all army actions are coordinated with the White House.
