Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, making a sharp statement, accused the media of an organised campaign aimed at weakening his power in times of war, as well as of facilitating dangerous leaks of information to the enemy. This is reported by TimeUkraineIsrael with reference to Cursorinfo. According to him, this campaign creates an atmosphere of mistrust and openly harms the country’s defence capabilities by providing access to key plans and negotiations to terrorist groups such as Hamas, as well as Iran and Hezbollah.

“The enemy gets information from our meeting room”: the threat to Israel’s security

Netanyahu spoke in detail about a new dangerous front in the war – the leakage of classified information from the Prime Minister’s office. Expressing concern about the country’s security, he noted that Hamas, Iran and Hezbollah have access to the internal discussions of the Israeli government, sometimes in real time. “Hamas knows our plans from the negotiating room, and they use this information. Such leaks endanger the lives of our soldiers and the security of the state,” Netanyahu said.

The information front and the danger of shaking up society

In his statement, Netanyahu stressed that instead of supporting the army in times of war, some media outlets are creating an atmosphere of distrust and moving the fight from the frontline to the media. According to him, new “scandals” are being artificially inflated to discredit the government and its efforts to protect the country. “Every night, society receives sensational headlines that sow anxiety and confuse citizens in times of war. Such actions create a sense of crisis and damage trust in the government,” he added.

Lack of investigations and an “organised hunt” for the government

Netanyahu also expressed frustration with the lack of investigations into the sources of the leaks, which he has repeatedly demanded from law enforcement. He stated that such leaks, instead of ensuring transparency, serve Israel’s enemies in furthering their agenda, undermining the country’s defence capabilities.

“The people of Israel know the truth. You see what is really happening and you understand that this is an attempt to weaken the country at the most tense moment. We continue to fight not only the enemy on the battlefield, but also in the media, which spreads false information,” Netanyahu said in conclusion.

Earlier, TimeUkraineIsrael reported that Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman was at the centre of another scandal over an alleged leak of data concerning a senior IDF official, which further increased tensions around the government.
