Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the start of another prisoner exchange with Russia. According to him, Ukrainians are returning home, and the process will take place in stages over the coming days.
“Ours at home. Ukrainians are returning home from Russian captivity. Today, the exchange has begun and will continue in several stages in the coming days,” the Head of State stressed.
According to Zelenskyy, the current exchange includes the wounded and seriously injured, as well as people under the age of 25. The President emphasised the complexity of the negotiations, which are conducted almost daily, and expressed gratitude to everyone who helps in this humanitarian mission.
“We are doing our best to bring everyone back. We are working for this at all levels. We have to bring home everyone who is in captivity,” Zelenskyy said.
He also reminded that the basis for this process was the agreements reached during the humanitarian meeting in Istanbul.
