Peskov: Putin-Zelenskyy meeting possible after agreements. Kremlin prepares list of conditions for ceasefire
The Kremlin believes that a personal meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is possible, but only after “certain agreements” are reached between the delegations of the two countries. This was stated by Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to the Russian service of the BBC.
“We believe such a meeting is possible as a result of the work of the delegations of the two sides, if certain agreements are reached by these delegations,” Peskov said.
According to him, Moscow is preparing a list of conditions for a ceasefire, which will be handed over to the Ukrainian side. Peskov did not provide any details on the content of these conditions.
The Kremlin spokesman also stressed that for the Russian side, the question of who exactly from the Ukrainian side will sign any documents is fundamental. At the same time, according to Peskov, there are no plans to change the composition of the Russian delegation at the talks.
In addition, Peskov said that there are currently no contacts between Moscow and Washington regarding a potential meeting between Putin and US President Donald Trump.
These statements came amid reports of the intensification of the negotiation process mediated by Turkey, the United States and European partners. Despite the Kremlin’s official rhetoric, Ukraine insists that any peace talks are possible only on the basis of the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory.
