Polish officials have requested access to the classified parts of Ukraine’s victory plan recently presented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Władysław Teofil Bartosiewski said this in an interview on 21 October, Kyiv Independent reports .
Zelenskyy presented his victory plan on 17 October, which includes five main points and three confidential annexes. During the presentation, he stressed that the full text of the document would remain confidential, with only those partners who play a key role in the implementation of the plan having access to the classified sections.
Bartosiewski noted that Poland was not among the countries that had access to all the details of the plan, and stressed the significant military support Poland provided to Ukraine. “We provided military assistance to Ukraine at the most important moment: when Germany was discussing sending helmets, we sent 320 tanks. Our contribution was obviously significant, especially in the beginning when it was most needed,” he said.
Zelenskyy’s victory plan includes the following key aspects: invitation to NATO, defence component, deterrence of Russian aggression, economic development and cooperation, and post-war security architecture.
On 18 October, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the plan to defeat Ukraine would be revised after the US presidential election. At the same time, Tusk stressed that Poland’s support for Ukraine’s membership in NATO remains unchanged. “We stand in solidarity with Ukraine on this issue,” he said.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Poland has become one of Ukraine’s strongest allies, providing billions of dollars in military, economic and humanitarian aid and hosting millions of Ukrainian refugees.
