Yesterday, a landmark event took place in the Vatican: Pope Francis received a delegation from Israel led by Professor Yitzhak Kreis, CEO of the Shiba Medical Centre. This visit was timed to exchange experience in the field of public health, where Israel is one of the world leaders.

One of the most touching moments of the visit was when the Pope met with Alon Kaminer, a former fighter who survived thanks to the highly qualified treatment he received at Shiba. Kaminer told Pope Francis about his experience and recovery from a serious injury in combat, which became an embodiment of hope and human resilience.

Pope Francis praised the innovative treatments used at the Shiba Medical Centre and expressed his admiration for the cooperation of medical professionals in the field of public health. He emphasised the importance of such meetings to promote international medical cooperation and exchange of knowledge that can save lives.

This meeting symbolises the deep desire of both sides to contribute to improving global health and understanding through dialogue and cooperation. It also underlines the important role that medical facilities like Sheba play in shaping new approaches to the treatment and recovery of patients around the world.
