President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed three important legislative documents aimed at strengthening national security, justice and unity of Ukrainians in the world. The Head of State announced this in Telegram.

We are talking about:

  1. The Law on Multiple Citizenship;
  2. Law on the Ratification of the Agreement Establishing the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression of Russia;
  3. Law on the Temporary Suspension of the Ottawa Convention on the Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines for Ukraine.

“Each of these decisions strengthens Ukraine,” the President stressed.

Zelensky explained the significance of the signed documents:

  • The Law on Multiple Citizenship will legally unite millions of Ukrainians abroad, as well as representatives of other nations who have linked their lives with Ukraine.
  • The establishment of an international tribunal will ensure that Russia is punished for the war it has started.
  • The temporary suspension of the Ottawa Convention will allow Ukraine to achieve parity in defence against Russia, which has never been a party to the Convention itself.

The President also instructed the government to immediately prepare bylaws and identify partners to implement the laws, including those on the launch of the tribunal and multiple citizenship. He paid special attention to the intensification of decisions in the defence sector.
