Prime Minister of Latvia Evika Silina arrives in Kyiv to take part in the Statehood Day celebrations

On Tuesday, 15 July, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina arrived in Kyiv on an official visit at the invitation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She announced this on the social network X.

“At the invitation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, I arrived in Kyiv to take part in the ceremony marking the anniversary of Ukrainian statehood and to meet with high-ranking officials of Ukraine,” the Latvian prime minister wrote.

Silina emphasised Latvia’s continued support: “We have been, are and will be with Ukraine until a just and lasting peace is achieved.”

The visit is expected to include talks on security assistance, post-war reconstruction and strengthening Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
