Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, together with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Special Commission for Monitoring International Assistance, met with military attachés from partner countries. The minister posted this on his Facebook page.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence. Umerov expressed his gratitude to every state that supports Ukraine in its fight against Russian invaders and stressed that it is important that the provided weapons and equipment are used on the battlefield as efficiently as possible.

The minister said that he and the Verkhovna Rada Committee had briefed the attachés on the digitalisation of military aid accounting. Prior to the full-scale invasion, weapons records in Ukraine were kept only in paper format, but the war showed the need to change approaches. According to him, the Ministry of Defence has made significant progress in reforming the supply of weapons and equipment in line with NATO standards.

Umerov also announced regular meetings with military attaches of allied countries to summarise the results of military assistance and determine support plans for the next year.

“Transparency, clarity and accountability are the principles that the Ministry of Defence strictly adheres to in its cooperation with our allies,” the minister stressed.

One of the key achievements, according to Umerov, was the introduction of the SAP system, which transforms the army’s accounting and procurement into a modern digital format that is easy to analyse and control. Thanks to a licence transferred by Germany, the system is being scaled up to cover all units of the Defence Forces. Currently, it covers three thousand users at various levels and allows tracking key indicators, including the number of weapons, their condition and distribution among units.
