US Senator from the Republican Party Lindsey Graham thanked Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev for a “rare moment of honesty” when he openly stated the Kremlin’s true goals in the war against Ukraine. Graham wrote about this on the social network X, Ukrinform reports.

“I congratulate Mr Medvedev on a rare moment of honesty from the Russian propaganda machine,” the US senator said. He added that such frankness helps the international community to understand clearly that Putin and his entourage “have no intention of seeking peace”.

Earlier, Medvedev commented on the second round of talks in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine on his Telegram channel, saying that they were not aimed at reaching a compromise but “ensuring Russia’s complete victory and the destruction of the neo-Nazi regime”.

Such statements, Graham believes, confirm the real narrative of the Kremlin leadership and destroy any illusions about the possibility of a diplomatic settlement without powerful pressure on Moscow.
