Russia has already lost one million soldiers in the war against Ukraine – killed and wounded – but has failed to achieve any of its strategic goals. This was announced on social media platform X by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.
“Today, Russia’s losses in Ukraine have reached one million killed and wounded in action. 1,000,000 have been lost in vain – Russia has not achieved a single strategic goal of its full-scale invasion,” the diplomat wrote.
Sibiga stressed that Russia’s political and military leadership must be held accountable for unleashing a barbaric and illegal aggression. He stressed that everyone who committed crimes in Ukraine must be brought to justice.
The Foreign Minister reminded that it is Russia that blocks peace initiatives, continues shelling, and refuses to cease fire and meet leaders. While Ukraine, he said, remains committed to peace.
“We did not start this war. We want it to end more than anyone else,” Sibiga said. He also called on the international community to increase pressure on the aggressor to stop further bloodshed.
