Ukraine and the Council of Europe are planning to set up a special tribunal to bring Russia to justice for its aggression against Ukraine. This was stated by Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Anton Korynevych, who emphasised the importance of the bilateral format of the agreement. He called this approach the most promising, and noted that work on draft constituent documents is ongoing.

According to 112.ua, an important meeting of the Core Group was held in Vienna in September to discuss the details of the tribunal. The key topics of discussion were the mechanism for selecting judges and the formation of the judiciary for the future trial.

The draft Statute of the tribunal is at the final stage of development, and it will define the main provisions and principles of work. The Ukrainian side is actively involved in drafting documents and implementing mechanisms to ensure the proper functioning of the judicial process.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Andriy Kostin, also expressed his opinion on possible compromises with Russia in the context of Ukrainian territories, confirming that the process of establishing the tribunal is going according to plan and has international support.
