The strategic partnership agreement on critical minerals signed between the United States and Ukraine contains a separate provision on support for Ukraine’s European course. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga on the social network X.
“It is worth noting that the agreement specifically mentions Ukraine’s accession process, ensuring a smooth alignment with Ukraine’s EU accession goal,” Sibiga said.
The document also sees Ukraine as a key player in the global security architecture, the minister stressed. According to him, it is not only about economic benefits, but also about a long-term investment in the security and stability of the region.
“This is an investment in the long-term presence of a US strategic business in Ukraine and the shaping of the future security architecture,” added Sibiga.
The agreement opens up new horizons for US companies to invest in the extraction and processing of critical minerals, which are strategically important for Ukraine’s recovery and for strengthening Western economies.
