US President Donald Trump remains open to diplomacy to end the war in Ukraine, but is taking a realistic approach to relations with Russia, as he did with Iran.
This was announced during a briefing by US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce, Ukrinform reports.
“Although he is a diplomat and always optimistic about diplomacy, he is also a realist. And the world has seen what Iran has seen. And now, with these new actions of the president, Russia sees that he is a patient man, but not at the expense of implementing his position,” Bruce said.
She stressed that President Trump is unhappy with Putin’s actions, and this is clearly evident in recent White House statements.
