Former U.S. President Donald Trump does not plan to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this week, despite earlier statements made by Ukrainian officials. According to AP, citing a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, no such meeting was ever scheduled.
An official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss internal planning, confirmed that “there was no meeting planned” between the two leaders, despite claims from Ukrainian officials last week that Zelensky intended to meet with the former U.S. president during his visit to the U.S.
In addition, while speaking in Savannah, Georgia, Trump mocked President Joe Biden’s repeated promises to support Ukraine’s military “until Kyiv wins the war.”
