Ukrainian Defence Industries JSC and French company Thales International SAS have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture. This was announced by Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin on Telegram on Saturday, 15 February.
“We are starting a new day of the Munich Security Conference with the signing of an important document. JSC Ukroboronprom and Thales International SAS have agreed to establish a joint venture and put these agreements on paper,” Smetanin wrote.
According to him, the company will specialise in the development of advanced technological solutions to strengthen air defence, radar systems, electronic warfare (EW), tactical communications and optoelectronic systems.
“The Ukrainian defence industry has been cooperating with Thales for a long time, and I am pleased that this cooperation is deepening to the point of a joint venture,” the minister added.
