Ukraine is actively developing its missile programme, focusing on large-scale production of modern weapons and strategic planning. This was announced by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov during a meeting with Ukrainian missile manufacturers, the press service of the Ministry of Defence reports.
The minister noted that the first 100 Ukrainian-made missiles were produced this year. Plans for 2025 include a significant increase in production capacity to ensure the country’s defence capability.
“We are increasing the production of Ukrainian missiles. We discussed key areas of cooperation and development of the industry. Our engineers and partners are working for the future to provide modern weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Umerov said.
Improvements to Neptune
Particular attention is paid to the R-360 Neptune cruise missiles. This weapon has become a symbol of Ukraine’s defence capability, especially after the destruction of the Russian cruiser Moscow in April 2022. The Neptune missiles are currently in mass production with improvements that will allow them to hit targets at greater distances.
Innovative developments: Palyanytsia drone missiles
Ukraine also focuses on the latest technologies. One of the most promising developments is a drone missile called Palianytsia. This project is the result of successful cooperation between public and private companies. The new drones are designed to meet modern battlefield challenges and are capable of performing a wide range of tasks.
To strengthen its defence capabilities, Ukraine cooperates not only with domestic enterprises but also with international partners. This cooperation allows us to integrate advanced technologies and provide the armed forces with the most modern equipment.
Ukraine is steadily increasing its defence capabilities, adapting its strategic planning to the long-term challenges and needs of modern warfare.
