Ukraine returns bodies of 7,017 fallen defenders and 4,131 prisoners

Ukraine continues to bring its defenders home. Since the start of the full-scale war, the bodies of 7,017 fallen soldiers have been returned, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported, Ukrayinska Pravda reports.

A total of 75 repatriations were carried out. As of December 2024, 73 exchanges had taken place, with 5,503 bodies returned. In January and February this year, two more repatriations took place, during which 757 bodies were returned.

In addition, Ukraine released 4,131 prisoners of war, including both military and civilians. In January alone, 25 seriously wounded were returned home.

The Ukrainian authorities continue to work on the return of all citizens held in Russian captivity, as well as on the repatriation of fallen heroes.
