Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov and Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga arrived in London for key consultations with US and European partners on a peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine.
This was announced by Andriy Yermak on his Telegram channel.
Ukraine insists on peace – through justice
“Despite everything, we will work for peace,” Yermak said, stressing that the meeting in London is a continuation of the agreements reached during his visit to Paris.
According to him, Kyiv remains committed to peaceful efforts and continues to actively seek diplomatic ways to end the war.
“The path to peace is not easy, but Ukraine has been and remains committed to peaceful efforts,” he said.
What is being discussed in London?
Informal high-level meetings with representatives of the US and EU countries are taking place in the British capital. The main goal is to agree on the terms of a full and unconditional ceasefire as the first step towards a sustainable and just peace.
These talks could be a preparation for a broader international format on the eve of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland in June.
Context: Ukraine’s efforts in Jeddah and Paris
Ukraine has already participated in several rounds of peace consultations, including in Jeddah (March) and Paris. Kyiv has consistently emphasised that peace is possible only on the basis of international law, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
“Ukraine is not an obstacle to peace,” Yermak said. “An obstacle is an aggressor.
