The United States will resume deliveries of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel following former President Donald Trump’s decision to lift the ban imposed by the Joe Biden administration. This was reported by Axios, citing government sources.

In the coming days, 1,800 MK-84 bombs stored in warehouses in the United States will be delivered to Israel by sea. According to Israeli officials, the delivery will significantly strengthen the country’s military capabilities.

Crisis in relations over Biden’s decision
Last year, President Joe Biden’s administration halted the supply of this type of weapon, citing the risk of heavy civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip. The ban was imposed following reports of possible Israeli military operations in the densely populated areas of Gaza, which is home to more than 1.4 million refugees.

Biden’s decision caused a crisis in relations between the US and Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies called it an “unofficial embargo”. Trump’s lifting of the ban is perceived in Israel as a confirmation of his support even after the end of his presidential term.

Trump: weapons for an ally
On his Truth Social platform, Donald Trump stated that “many things ordered and paid for by Israel that were not delivered by Biden are on their way”.

Known for their power and precision, these bombs are used to destroy strategic targets such as military bases, command centres and infrastructure.
