Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny made a powerful statement, emphasising that the events of 2024 indicate the beginning of World War III. According to him, the active participation of Russia’s autocratic allies in the war against Ukraine and their direct influence on the course of hostilities is evidence that the current conflict is already going beyond a bilateral confrontation. This was reported by Time Ukraine Israel, citing Ukrayinska Pravda.
The role of Russia’s autocratic allies in the war against Ukraine
During the UP-100 award ceremony, Zaluzhny stressed that forces representing autocratic regimes allied to Russia are operating on the territory of Ukraine. He mentioned North Korean soldiers, Iranian drones known as “Shahedis” that ruthlessly attack civilians, as well as North Korean missiles and Chinese ammunition used by Russian troops. Zaluzhnyi noted that these weapons are not just being shipped to Ukraine, but are being openly used against Ukrainian cities and citizens.
Direct speech: “I believe that in 2024, we can absolutely say that World War III has begun. Not only Russian forces are operating in Ukraine, but also troops from North Korea, Iranian kamikaze drones are flying, and Chinese ammunition in Russian missiles is attacking. This is not just a Ukrainian-Russian conflict, it is a global war,” he said.
The world at a crossroads: a chance for unity
Zaluzhny also called on the international community to join forces to stop this conflict unfolding in Ukraine. He emphasised that the situation in Ukraine is the last frontier before a full-scale war that could engulf most of the world. According to him, civilisation still has a chance to rectify the situation and prevent escalation. Unfortunately, he said, many Western partners are not ready to fully understand and support Ukraine in this struggle.
Direct speech: “What has been expected for so long has already begun. God is giving a chance not only to Ukraine but to the whole world to draw the right conclusions. If this does not happen, the consequences could be catastrophic,” warns Zaluzhnyi.
Prospects for Ukraine
Zaluzhnyi expressed hope that technological advances would help Ukraine to survive, but also acknowledged that it would be difficult to win the global battle without proper support. He once again called on the world to understand the scale of the danger and stop the aggressors while it is still possible.
“Ukraine has many enemies, but also many reliable allies. Today we stand not only for our independence, but also for the future of the whole of Europe and the world,” he concluded.
Valeriy Zaluzhnyi not only described the situation as the beginning of World War III, but also warned the world of the possible consequences if it stood aside. His call is a signal to all countries that the situation requires immediate decisive action and unity in the face of a common threat.
