On Monday, 27 January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Poland to take part in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. The President’s press secretary, Serhiy Nikiforov, said this in a comment to Suspilne.
“President Zelenskyy arrived in Poland to take part in events marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz,” the statement said.
In addition to participating in the memorial events, the visit programme includes a number of bilateral meetings. In particular, talks are scheduled with President of the European Council Antonio Costa and President of France Emmanuel Macron.
It is worth noting that the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz is an important event that symbolises the fight against the horrors of Nazism and commemorates the victims of the Holocaust. The Ukrainian delegation headed by Zelenskyy reaffirms the country’s readiness to actively participate in international dialogue aimed at preserving historical memory and strengthening European unity.
