President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the brutal shelling of Sumy by Russian troops was another deliberate attack on the civilian population. The Head of State announced this on his Telegram channel.

“The Russians attacked Sumy in a brutal way. Just in the city, on ordinary streets – with rocket artillery. An absolutely deliberate attack on civilians,” Zelensky wrote.

According to him, a rescue operation is underway at the site of the tragedy. As of now, three people have been officially confirmed dead. Many residents were injured.

The President noted that one of the rockets had pierced the wall of an apartment on the 9th floor, but did not explode. He called this incident a vivid illustration of Russia’s true “desire” to end the war, hinting at the deep irony of such statements by Kremlin propaganda.

“Everything you need to know about Russia’s ‘desire’ to end this war,” Zelensky concluded.
