Zelenskyy: Ukraine will not accept Russian ultimatums

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not give in to Russia’s demands, even after talks between the US and Russian delegations held in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, CNN reports.

Zelenskyy, who was not invited to these talks, stressed that Kyiv did not give in to Moscow’s ultimatums in 2022 and will not do so now. He recalled that Russia did not seek diplomatic solutions from the outset, but invaded Ukraine at night, forcing Ukrainians to take up arms.

Before the talks in Riyadh, Zelenskyy assured that he would not sign any agreement concluded without Ukraine’s participation. He stressed that any future negotiations to end the war should include countries capable of providing security guarantees for Ukraine.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who attended the press conference with Zelenskyy, said that Ankara was ready to become a platform for future talks.
