President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed confidence in the return of all temporarily occupied territories through diplomatic means.

In an interview with ITV News, he said that he sees a future where the Ukrainian flag will once again fly over Sevastopol, Mariupol and Donetsk.

“Russia will weaken, it’s only a matter of time. But our task is to make sure that the liberation happens sooner. And most importantly, in a peaceful way to avoid casualties,” Zelenskyy stressed.

An international signal of non-recognition of the occupation

The President pointed out that even those countries that supported Russia before the war and remain economically or politically linked to it do not recognise the annexation of Crimea and Donbas.

“This is an important signal. Russia builds its alliances on temporary benefits, blackmail, money and weapons. But such relations cannot be strong,” Zelenskyy stressed.

He also noted that Putin’s geopolitical strategy is weakening, as his partners – Iran, North Korea, China and some Arab and Latin American countries – support him only as long as it is beneficial to them.

“As soon as this balance changes, Russia will be left without allies. And then we will get ours back,” the president concluded.
