Zelenskyy approves transition of the Armed Forces to a new organisational structure and creation of corps

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved a plan to transition the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a new organisational structure that provides for the creation of corps. The head of state announced this in his address on 3 February.

According to Zelenskyy, during the report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the modernisation of the army was agreed upon and approaches to the appointment of corps commanders were determined. The President emphasised that these positions should be held by the most trained and promising officers with combat experience and modern thinking.

In addition, Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff to discuss energy security and the protection of the country’s energy system.
