Zelenskyy arrives in Ankara: Ukraine begins negotiations on a just peace

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the Turkish capital to take part in direct peace talks. Ukraine’s delegation is represented at the highest level, with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the President, the military and intelligence.

The head of state said this in a short address on board the plane, published by the Presidential Press Service .

“First of all, I would like to thank President Erdogan for organising the meeting, for the opportunity for direct talks here in Ankara,” Zelenskyy said.

The President stressed that the Ukrainian side had a clear vision of peace – not capitulation, but a fair and sustainable settlement of the war unleashed by Russia.

“Our delegation is at the highest level – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, my office, the military, representatives of all our intelligence agencies. In order to make any decisions that can lead to the expected just peace,” Zelenskyy added.
