President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Agrarian Policy to discuss the results of their visit to Syria. The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel on Thursday, 2 January.

According to the President, the main topics of the report were security and economic prospects, as well as opportunities for further cooperation.

“Ukraine is ready to contribute to the stabilisation of the situation in Syria. Within the framework of the Grain from Ukraine programme, we will establish cooperation with the Syrian administration and international partners who are ready to support these initiatives,” Zelenskyy said.

He also stressed the importance of engaging European countries and the United States for maximum support.

“More stability in the Middle East means more peace and trade for all partners,” the President stressed.

The Ukrainian side emphasises the need to strengthen international cooperation to achieve peace in the region, as a stable Middle East has a significant impact on the global economy and security.
