President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. According to Time Ukraine Israel, citing the Presidential Office, the main topics discussed were strengthening Ukraine’s air defence and coordinating actions in response to Russia’s aggression.

Ukraine-NATO: decisive steps against threats

The President thanked for organising an extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the request of the Ukrainian side. At that meeting, which took place the day before, Ukraine presented in detail the evidence of Russia’s use of an advanced ballistic missile during the attack on Dnipro.

Zelensky stressed the need for the Alliance to respond quickly to Russia’s expansion of the war. In this context, a regular meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of foreign ministers will be held in Brussels on 3-4 December. One of the key topics of discussion will be the transfer of modern air defence systems capable of intercepting the latest types of missiles to Ukraine. Ukraine has already provided NATO member states with a list of air defence systems needed to strengthen its defences.

Euro-Atlantic integration and defence cooperation

Zelensky stressed the importance of extending an official invitation to NATO to Ukraine, which would be a symbol of trust and support in this difficult time. In addition, the conversation highlighted the critical need for the rapid delivery of long-range equipment and the implementation of the announced military assistance packages.

Global challenges: the alliance of Russia, Iran and the DPRK

The parties also discussed the international threats posed by the alliance between Russia, Iran and North Korea. Zelenskyy noted that the cooperation of these states, in particular the transfer of military technology in exchange for weapons, poses a danger to global security.

Ukraine continues to step up its diplomatic efforts, strengthen cooperation with partners and enhance its defence capabilities to effectively counter Russian aggression.
