In the framework of his visit to Prague, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the heads of leading defence companies of the Czech Republic. During the talks, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the defence industry, including joint production of weapons and ammunition.
“Ukrainian-Czech cooperation and joint production can guarantee security and prevent the recurrence of aggression on the European continent. Thank you for your trust in Ukraine and the implementation of joint projects,” Zelensky said in a Facebook post on 5 May.
The President also noted the participation of Czech companies in the European initiative to supply 155 mm artillery ammunition, which is critically needed by the Ukrainian army at the front.
According to Zelenskyy, combining the defence capabilities of European countries is not only a response to current threats, but also a real contribution to achieving a just and sustainable peace on the continent.
