Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski says he expects an adequate response from the US after Russia’s missile strike on Sumy, which killed dozens of civilians.
He said this on Monday before a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, Reuters reports.
“Ukraine unconditionally agreed to the ceasefire over a month ago. The disgusting attacks on Kryvyi Rih and Sumy are Russia’s mocking response,” Sikorsky stressed.
He expressed hope that US President Donald Trump and his administration would realise the true nature of the Kremlin’s actions.
“I hope that President Trump and the US administration will realise that the Russian leader is mocking their goodwill, and the right decisions will be made,” the Polish diplomat added.
Sikorsky’s statement comes amid growing international criticism of Russia’s actions following a missile attack on the centre of Sumy on Palm Sunday that killed at least 34 people. European countries are demanding decisive action from their allies in response to Moscow’s escalating aggression.
