According to the White House press service, a warm and productive working meeting between US President Donald J. Trump and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan took place yesterday at the White House. The meeting focused on regional peace and the situation in Gaza.
King Abdullah congratulated President Trump on the successful first weeks of his presidency and expressed gratitude for his leadership in the release of the Gaza hostages and for initiating a temporary pause in hostilities. President Trump reaffirmed the strength of the relationship between the United States and Jordan and thanked the King for his continued support for regional peace.
The leaders also discussed the need for the release of all hostages held by Hamas by next Saturday, with a particular focus on American citizens. President Trump asked King Abdullah to help ensure that Hamas leaders and other regional actors understand the seriousness of the situation.
One of the key topics of the conversation was the President’s desire to ensure the successful reconstruction of Gaza after the conflict and the creation of conditions for a decent and safe life for its residents, free from the tyrannical influence of Hamas.
