Israeli Traps and World Games
As Time Ukraine Israel reports, referring to the source of Channel 9 of Israel, in the modern world, Qatar has successfully established the reputation of the most duplicitous and hypocritical country. This US ally and the main foreign donor of elite European education is at the same time the best friend of Middle East terrorists and the owner of the Al Jazeera propaganda channel.
Israel, unlike the US and Europe, understands the nature of Qatar’s behavior a little better. However, the Jewish state also fell into a trap. The Israelis sincerely dreamed of shifting the Gaza problem onto someone else’s shoulders, and Qatar seized the opportunity to convince Israel of its interest in taking the sector under its political control in exchange for peace on the border.
October 7:
Clarity and Disappointment
However, the events of October 7 clearly showed that Qatar is not meeting its obligations. It became clear that the era of Qatari influence must remain in the past. But how to do it?
One possible step could be to block Qatar’s communication with Gaza, preventing it from sending humanitarian aid. However, Qatar is the main mediator in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas and can blackmail Israel to get its way.
The negotiation game
It will also not be possible to knock Qatar out of the negotiations. The US sincerely believes in Qatar’s desire to reach an agreement and is pleased with its mediation in negotiations for the release of American citizens from Iranian custody last September.
New Ideal Partner
One option remains: to grow a new partner in Gaza who will really care about creating a sector that will not pose a threat to Israel. This is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – a country that hates Islamists, is a strategic ally of Israel, has experience in educational reforms and financial resources.
Since the beginning of the war, the UAE has broken all records for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. They initiated the opening of a humanitarian sea corridor from Cyprus to Gaza, built a state-of-the-art field hospital and delivered thousands of tents for refugees.
Mohammed Dahlan: The New Leader?
The most interesting thing is the fact that the UAE has a potential leader for Gaza – Mohammed Dahlan. A Khan Younis-born member of Fatah, he was expelled in 2011 and found refuge in the UAE, becoming a personal adviser to the president and involved in designing the Abraham Accords.
Israel doubts Dahlan’s political abilities, but admits that if he can avoid violence and build a new Palestinian Authority with the Emirates, then there is a chance for a long-term settlement of the situation in Gaza.
The future of Gaza
The head of the Saudi Foreign Ministry recently supported the idea of deploying a military contingent in Gaza after the end of the war. The picture of post-war Gaza is becoming clearer, and there will be no place for the duplicitous Qatar.
