MOSCOW, April 26 (Reuters) – Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSS) said on Saturday it had detained a suspect in the case of the murder of a senior Russian military officer in a car bomb attack on Friday.

This was reported by Reuters.

The Kremlin has accused Ukraine of killing 59-year-old Yaroslav Moskalik, deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

There were no official comments from Kyiv on Moskalyk’s death.

The FSS named the suspect as Ignat Kuzin, saying he was an “agent of the Ukrainian special services”.

Moskalik was killed in the town of Balashikha, east of Moscow, a few hours before US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
