Odesa, 1 May 2025. A railway worker was killed in a massive nighttime strike on Odesa carried out by Russian drones. This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia on its official Telegram channel.
Direct speech of Ukrzaliznytsia:
“Odesa region and the railway infrastructure of the region came under enemy fire last night. There were no casualties at the workplace, but unfortunately, the enemy attack on Odesa took the life of a railway worker in his own home.”
The attack damaged the railway track, the contact network and three freight cars. The company’s specialists are currently carrying out prompt repairs to ensure the uninterrupted movement of freight trains to the ports. In the meantime, transport is being rerouted and passenger services are running as planned.

On the night of 30 April to 1 May, Odesa was subjected to a massive drone attack by the Russian Federation. Earlier it was reported that 2 people were killed and 5 injured, but later the number of victims increased to 15. The search for an elderly couple who disappeared under the rubble is also ongoing.
The shelling damaged residential buildings, social infrastructure and transport.
