Kyiv region – In the town of Bohuslav, Obukhiv district, a 67-year-old man accidentally wounded his 57-year-old common-law wife by shooting her with a hunting rifle. The incident occurred during an attempt to disassemble the weapon, which the man had found in the forest and brought to his home. During the manipulation of the gun, a shot was fired, as a result of which the woman sustained serious injuries – wounds to the shoulder and jaw, Time Ukraine Israel reported, citing the press service of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv region.
According to the police, the victim was immediately hospitalised. She was provided with the necessary medical care. Law enforcement officers promptly detained the suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention centre. Material evidence was seized.
According to the press service of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv Region, investigators, in cooperation with the Myronivsky Department of the Obukhiv District Prosecutor’s Office, served the man a notice of suspicion of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm (Article 128 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
