Among the 307 defenders released from captivity, 21 are from the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Among the 307 Ukrainian servicemen released from Russian captivity on 24 May, 21 are representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko on his Telegram channel.

In particular, we are talking about 9 soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine and 12 border guards. According to the minister, most of them were captured in the Donetsk sector, which remains one of the hottest spots on the frontline.

“We will take care of our soldiers, provide them with the necessary medical care, psychological and social support. We will do everything possible for their rehabilitation,” assured Klymenko.

He thanked President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and the team of the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war for the work done and the results achieved.

According to the Coordination Centre, all of those released on 24 May were men, including privates and sergeants. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that the youngest of them is 25 years old, and the oldest is 61. Some of the released soldiers have been injured or seriously ill.
