A young man from the Bedouin community was detained by police on suspicion of breaking into the car of the son of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and stealing a credit card, which he managed to use. This was reported by israelinfo.

According to investigators, the suspect was recorded on surveillance cameras making a payment with a credit card in the name of Ayala Ben-Gvir, the minister’s wife. On Wednesday, Beersheba police detained the suspect along with an alleged accomplice.

However, the suspect was subsequently released on NIS 5,000 bail without additional restrictive measures. Interestingly, he denies any involvement in the crime and has no criminal record.

Minister Ben-Gvir’s office published the minister’s official reaction: “Of course, as a minister, I do not interfere in the course of an investigation, especially in a case involving my family. However, if the prosecutor’s office allows the suspect to be released without additional restrictions, this raises serious questions. I say this not as a minister, but as a victim of a crime.”

The Minister expressed his outrage at the actions of the prosecutor’s office and demanded a transparent report on the incident.
