Kyiv has been hit by heavy rainfall, which has caused serious flooding problems in several districts. City services are working in an emergency mode to minimise the impact of the weather. However, according to the official telegram channel of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), the stormwater system is not designed to handle such heavy rainfall.

The situation on the ground

The hydraulic services of Kyivavtodor are actively working to eliminate flooding in Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts. Specialised crews are on duty in areas where new flooding is likely to occur.

Recommendations for drivers

The city administration urges drivers to be careful on the roads and keep a safe distance to avoid traffic accidents. In case of flooding of the roadway or sidewalks, residents can contact the Kyivavtodor dispatch service at 0442847419.

In case of emergency

If a tree falls or branches break during a rainstorm, immediately call the emergency dispatch service of Kyivzelenbud at 0442724018. If the fall of trees or branches is life-threatening, you should contact the rescuers by calling 101 or 0444303713 (KARS phone). If people are injured, call 103 immediately.

Other problems on the roads

In case of traffic lights or road signs malfunction, residents can contact 0503873542 (the telephone number of the Traffic Management Centre). The Kyiv City Contact Centre is also available: you can call 1551 from a landline or mobile phone, or 0442057337 from a long-distance phone.

Kyiv services continue to work to ensure the safety and comfort of the capital’s residents in the face of bad weather.
