Return of Jewish hostages to Israel

Emily Damari, one of the hostages released as part of the exchange between Israel and Hamas, recorded her first words after returning to her homeland. In her post, she expressed her immense gratitude to those who were worried about her. This was reported by the Time Ukraine Israel portal, citing Vesty.

“I love, love, love. I thank God. Thank you to my family and friends who have been there for me. I am alive again, my dear ones,” Emily wrote on Monday, 20 January.

Two more hostages were released from the Emirate of Gaza: Romi Gonen and Doron Steinbrecher. All of the released hostages were hospitalised in a specially prepared ward at Shiba Hospital.

Support and medical examination

Doron Steinbrecher, according to her close friend Ophir Oved, looks content and happy. “She will undergo a series of examinations, but the main thing is that she is already here with us,” Oved said.

The community of Kibbutz Ruhama, where residents from Kibbutz Kfar Aza have temporarily moved, is preparing to receive the released prisoners. Medical procedures and interviews with security officials can take a long time, but families are waiting for their loved ones with unbroken warmth.

Health Minister Bousseau calls for privacy

Israeli Health Minister Uriel Bousso arrived at Shiba Hospital early in the morning on 20 January. He called for ensuring the privacy of the released women and creating comfortable conditions for their rehabilitation. Bousso also spoke to the doctors and received a report on the hostages’ health. According to him, providing medical and psychological support is a priority.

Expectations and hopes

The released women, including Emily, spent the first night after their release with their families. Their families hope to return to their normal lives as soon as possible. In the meantime, security officials plan to start talking to the released women to clarify the details of their time in captivity, but due to their busy schedules, these meetings may be postponed.

The hostages’ release is an example of the importance of international negotiations and efforts to protect human life and dignity. Emily, Romy and Doron now have the opportunity to start a new chapter in their lives, full of hope and support.
