As a result of a massive Iranian missile attack on Israeli territory on 14 June, five Ukrainian citizens were killed in the city of Bat Yam, including three minor children. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“According to preliminary information from the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel, on 14 June, five Ukrainian citizens were killed as a result of a massive missile attack by Iran and a missile hitting a residential building in Bat Yam,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The personal details of the victims are currently being clarified. Ukrainian diplomats and consuls are working closely with the Israeli police and other services to identify the victims and organise the repatriation of the bodies to their homeland.
This tragedy was the first confirmed death of Ukrainian citizens as a result of a direct Iranian strike on Israel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Ukrainians in the region to exercise caution and to contact Ukrainian diplomatic missions in case of emergency.
Ukraine expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and promised to facilitate the return of the bodies to their homeland in every way possible.
